St. Claude Commercial Corridor St. Claude Avenue is a major thoroughfare that crosses the Seventh, Eighth, and Ninth Wards. To the east, it enters St. Bernard Parish and ends at St. Bernard Avenue to the west. Although the avenue once extended farther west, its final stretch has been renamed Henriette Delille Street, which ends at Armstrong Park. Passing through the historic neighborhoods of Faubourg Marigny and Bywater, the thoroughfare has developed into a street with shops, restaurants, bars, and entertainment venues. In 2008 the city's first on-street bike lane was installed on St. Claude. |
